1. Information we ask for on our website

When you purchase, book an appointment with Green Gas & Energy, whether that’s a boiler installation, cooker insallation or any other products or services, we need to collect and store some of your personal details to make sure everything runs smoothly and you get the service you expect.

Below are some examples of the personal information we collect:

  • Email address

  • Payment details

  • Property type like flat or detached house

  • Property details like number of bedrooms and bathrooms

We need to store the information requested during the shopping process in case you decide to make a purchase, as it will be used to deliver and install your new boiler. This is stored locally on your computer, tablet or mobile using cookies. You can find out more about how we use cookies and how to opt out of them here below.

If you go ahead and purchase our boiler, cooker, renewables installation or any other service we may ask that you provide some photos of your property. Our engineers use these photos to check through your order and double check that everything you’ve chosen on our website is the right fit for your property, before we carry out actual survey of your home to check gas & water flow rates. We need to store and share these photos in house so that our engineers can use them to assess the property / proposed installation. In the unlikely event of any issues in the future we store these photos so that we have a record of how the heating in your home was looking before installation. We store these photos securely for 6 years after your installation date. This is necessary for legal compliance reasons such as Building Regulations.

After our Engineer has got your heating, cooker or renewables or any other services provided up and running they will take photos of the completed job so that we have a record that everything has been done properly, safely and in accordance with regulations. Once the job has been completed these photo’s are deleted from our engineers camera roll, however we store these photos securely in our system for 6 years after your installation date in the unlikely event of any issues with your installation, again this is necessary for legal compliance reasons such as Building Regulations.

Finally in order to send out your invoice and keep a record of the transaction we securely store information about your order indefinitely in our accounting systems, for example:

  • Your name

  • Your address

  • Service Address for landlords

  • Your property type

  • Your installation date
